Pakistan, Russia bolster anti-graft cooperation with MoU set for Nov 6 signing

Pakistan and Russia are set to deepen cooperation against corruption and money laundering, with NAB Chairman Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed and Russian Ambassador Albert P Khorev discussing institutional collaboration ahead of a planned anti-corruption MoU signing in Moscow on November 6, 2026.

During the meeting on Thursday, both sides discussed institutional transparency and the anti-corruption framework, with a focus on improving cooperation to tackle corruption and money laundering.

A key development discussed during the meeting was a planned Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between NAB and the Office of the Prosecutor General of Russia. The agreement is scheduled to be signed in Moscow on November 6, 2026.

The proposed MoU will focus on effective measures against corruption and money laundering and is expected to strengthen coordination between the relevant institutions of the two countries.

Ambassador Khorev reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to maintaining constructive dialogue with Pakistan and further promoting institutional cooperation between the two sides.

The planned agreement reflects the two countries’ commitment to strengthening cooperation against corruption at both the political and institutional levels.
