PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has said the PTI long march is still in its initial “Test match” phase, urging participants not to tire themselves as the movement progresses.
Addressing party workers and supporters at the Kabotar Chowk underpass on Dalazak Road in Peshawar, Afridi said the march would go through several stages.
“It is still a Test match, so do not tire yourselves too much,” he said.
“After this, we will play an ODI, followed by T20 and then T10.”
Afridi said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had pursued all available avenues to have its demands addressed, but had received no response.
“We have tried every avenue, but to no avail,” he said.
He also defended the party’s demands, saying none of them violated the Constitution.
“Not a single one of our demands is unconstitutional,” the chief minister said.
Turning to development in the provincial capital, Afridi said Rs200 billion was being spent on projects in Peshawar.
He said the city’s overall appearance would change by December as the development work progressed.
Afridi also referred to the provincial government’s earlier commitments, saying it had promised that the 2026-27 fiscal year would be a year of peace, development and prosperity.
