LAhore: The Government of Punjab is considering amending the Punjab Arms Ordinance 1965 and introducing the Punjab Arms Amendment Act 2026, it was reported on Tuesday.
The new arms laws will help to curb the sale, purchase, and manufacturing of illegal arms. A new Section 14-A will be introduced in the new law.
The law will declare possession of an illegal weapon as a non-bailable offence and withdraw the section on mutual agreement.
The cases of illegal weapons, murder, and snatching will be heard in the same court. All the cases that are being heard in different courts will be shifted to the Central Court.
