Punjab’s ‘Maryam Ko Batayen’ program offers five key public services

LAHORE: The Punjab government’s “Maryam Ko Batayen” (MKB) program offers five key services, including emergency financial assistance, motorcycle petrol subsidies, diesel subsidies for wheat harvesting, assistive devices for persons with disabilities and support for deserving families through the Dhee Rani marriage program, it was reported on Friday.

The program launched under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aims to provide direct financial assistance and essential support to low-income families, vulnerable communities and people in need.

Under the initiative, eligible applicants facing financial emergencies can receive direct financial assistance within 48 hours. The motorcycle petrol subsidy aims to reduce commuting costs for low-income households and daily-wage earners, while the wheat-harvesting diesel subsidy is designed to help farmers and small transport operators manage fuel expenses.

The assistive devices program provides support such as electric and manual wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aids, walking sticks and other mobility aids to help persons with disabilities live more independently. Meanwhile, the Dhee Rani program assists deserving families with financial grants, household necessities and wedding-related support for newly married couples.

According to the program details, a large number of applications have been received, and verified applicants have already benefited through the delivery system.

Citizens can apply for MKB services by calling the toll-free helpline 1000, visiting the official website at mkb.punjab.gov.pk, or downloading the Maryam Ko Batayen app from the Google Play Store.
