PTI yet to make up its mind on 28th Amendment, says Barrister Gohar

ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that the party’s stance on the 28th Amendment was still not clear.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, he said that the PTI wanted that any legislation should be reflective of aspirations of the masses and not controversial.

He said that the party wanted immediate lifting of the governor’s rule and emergency in KP.

Barrister Gohar said that now when governor’s rule had been imposed in the province, arrests and persecution of the party leaders and workers must stop. “PTI has roots in the people of Pakistan,” he said, adding that the party respected the state institutions and did not want any confrontation with them.

He dispelled the impression that there was any inquiry underway against the former KP chief minister, Sohail Afridi. “We condemn his detention.”

Responding to a question, PTI chairman said that the party did not have any option but to resort to long march for the acceptance of its demands.
