Pakistan rise to fourth in ICC ODI rankings after tri-series win

KARACHI: Pakistan have moved up to fourth place in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) men’s ODI team rankings following their impressive victory in the recently concluded tri-nation series.

According to the latest ICC rankings, Pakistan’s successful campaign has strengthened their position among the world’s leading one-day international teams, providing a boost to the national side ahead of upcoming international assignments.

Pakistan and South Africa are now level on 104 rating points, although the Proteas occupy third position while Pakistan have secured fourth place.

India continue to lead the ODI rankings, followed by New Zealand in second place. South Africa remain third, with Pakistan completing the top four.

Australia are placed fifth, while Afghanistan occupy sixth position and Sri Lanka stand seventh.

England are ranked eighth, Bangladesh ninth and the West Indies complete the top 10.

Pakistan’s rise comes after a successful tri-nation campaign in which the team demonstrated strong performances with both bat and ball to secure the title.

The latest improvement will provide additional confidence to the national team as it looks to maintain consistency and challenge higher-ranked opponents in future international competitions.

With only a narrow rating-point gap separating Pakistan and South Africa, further strong performances could prove important in the team’s pursuit of a place among the top three ODI sides.
