ISLAMABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani has vowed that Pakistan and the AJK government will continue efforts to highlight the Kashmir issue at national and international forums until Kashmiris are granted their right to self-determination, it was reported on Monday.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad alongside All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) leaders, Gilani praised the Hurriyat leadership for keeping the Kashmir issue alive and condemned the international community’s silence over alleged Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir.
APHC Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi said the AJK prime minister had briefed Hurriyat leaders on the government’s Kashmir policy and efforts to raise the issue globally.
He added that the AJK government would work alongside the federal government to develop a strategy for resolving the Kashmir dispute.
A dedicated forum would also be established for this purpose.
