The feud between Terrell Owens and Donvovan McNabb just got a little deeper.
When appearing on a podcast, hosted by Hall of Fame tight end Shannon Sharpe, Owens said when he had been asked who he would fight in a boxing match, he would pick McNabb.
“I’m dead serious, Shannon, I’ll knock him out,” Owens said. “Because there would be so much pent-up (rage).”
Sharpe then told Owens that if fighting McNabb, he would need to check his emotions.
“I’ll be controlled,” Owens continued. “It’ll be controlled anger. I’d be like a Navy Seal. I’d be a Navy Seal because you know they’re cool, calm under all conditions. But there would be a fire burning inside of me.”
Sharpe then asked Owens once more if he would knock McNabb out.
“Clean out,” Owens declared. “I’d knock the Chunky Soup from him. From 2004, trust me.”
McNabb was a long-time brand ambassador of the Campbell’s Chunky Soup line.
Even though the bad blood runs deep between them, Owens and McNabb played together on the Philadelphia Eagles for just two seasons, in 2004-05.
Both were most productive in 2004, when they were selected to Pro Bowls, but Owens also earned an all-pro nod. At the end of that season, the Eagles got all the way to Super Bowl XXXIX, but lost to the New England Patriots, 24-21.
