Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Tuesday said “It’s a time to serve the flood-affected people of Pakistan, and not to do politics,” reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
He expressed these views while talking to the media men during his visit to Narowal. He demanded Punjab government take measures to provide relief to the people of flood-affected areas.
Barrister Gohar termed the current floods “a natural disaster”, saying this is a moment of grief and sorrow.
He said that floods badly affected 42,00,000 people and 4,300 villages and crops across Punjab.
Barrister Gohar said, “We (PTI) faced many hardships, but this is not a suitable time to discuss such kind of things.”
Gohar said that farmers’ crops were completely destroyed and they were with them without realizing their affiliation with any political party.
The PTI Chairman said that people of Karachi also extended support to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in flood-affected areas.
Gohar suggested a national plan for flood on the pattern of the National Action Plan (NAP). He appealed to the Punjab government not to create any wedge between the people.
Gohar said that PTI founder Imran Khan also asked them to serve the people without any politics.
