Ayesha Omar flaunts bold look amid controversy over Lazawal Ishq

Ayesha Omar has set social media abuzz once again, this time with a striking look from Istanbul.

Taking to Instagram, the 43-year-old star shared a bold printed outfit shot, captioning it playfully: “jhooooooming fo evva.”

Her post, however, arrives just as her upcoming digital reality show Lazawal Ishq faces mounting backlash online. The show’s teaser, released earlier this week, sparked heated debate, boycott calls, and demands for regulatory intervention.

The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) issued a clarification in response, noting that it has no jurisdiction over Lazawal Ishq since the series will stream exclusively on digital platforms rather than licensed TV channels.

The teaser introduces the show’s concept: eight contestants,  four men and four women,  living together in a luxury villa in Turkey, with their daily interactions filmed. Omar, seen in bold western ensembles while exploring scenic Turkish locales, describes the project as a search for “eternal love” through emotional highs and lows.

Modeled on international hits like Love Island and Too Hot to Handle and inspired by the Turkish success Aşk Adası, Lazawal Ishq is touted as Pakistan’s first dating-competition reality series for Urdu-speaking audiences. Planned to span nearly 100 episodes, it will showcase alliances, challenges, eliminations, and eventually crown a “winning couple.”

But the venture has split opinion sharply. Detractors have dismissed it as “immoral” and contrary to cultural values, fueling boycott hashtags, while others are curious about how the format will translate locally.
