Punjab Cabinet approves raft of uplift, welfare projects, legislation

Punjab Cabinet, which met under the chair of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has formally ratified ban on Tehreek-e-Labaik (TLP) on Wednesday.

During 30th cabinet meeting, Punjab government approved raft of uplift projects and key legislation including Mahfouz and Roshan Punjab project. The Cabinet approved an MoU for Lahore-Rawalpindi High Speed Rail project, Punjab Protection of Ownership of Immovable Property Ordinance 2025 and Establishment of Air Punjab Private Limited Company.

The government rejected the proposal to increase electric bus fares in Multan, Rawalpindi and Lahore. Mass Transit Authority in Gujranwala was also approved. The Cabinet endorsed the proposed summary of traffic fines and point system in the province. The formation of University of Hafizabad was also approved.

Punjab Cabinet endorsed the recruitment of “School Teachers Intern” programme, subsidy program under Chief Minister Hi-Tech Farm Mechanization Finance Program. QR code system was approved for retailers under Prime Minister Cashless Strategy.

The Cabinet approved MoU on agricultural cooperation with Egypt and the formation of Board of Governors of Punjab Centre of Excellence for Countering Violence and Extremism.

The funds were approved for construction of museum and memorial at National Bank Park. The master plan approved for renovation, improvement and upgradation of Lahore Museum. Gujranwala Mass Transit Project was exempted from Central Development Working Party approval. Relaxation in recruitment for Punjab Financial Advisory Services and hiring of staff in Punjab Service Tribunal was okayed.

The Cabinet approved the of appointment of CEO of Punjab Land Development Company Limited, the appointment of Chief Executive Officer of Punjab Mineral Company (Private) Limited, reallocation of funds for Green Pakistan Program.

Punjab Chief Miniter also approved the delegate powers to Deputy Commissioners, District Consumer Protection Council, Assistant Director Legal under the Punjab Consumer Protection Act. Fateha was also offered in the meeting for the departed soul of the father of Senior Member Board of Revenue Nabeel Javed.
