The Islamabad High Court Bar Association has expressed concern over the recent transfer of judges from the Islamabad High Court, emphasizing the need for transparency and adherence to constitutional principles.
In a statement, the association’s secretary Qasim Abbasi said the bar has taken note of the developments, adding that while such steps fall within the constitutional framework, they must be carried out with uniformity, transparency and principled continuity.
He stated that decisions affecting the composition of courts are of significant institutional importance and should be approached with caution.
Abbasi further stressed that any such measures must not undermine the independence of the judiciary, which he described as a fundamental pillar of the rule of law and essential for maintaining public confidence in the justice system.
Reaffirming its stance, the Islamabad High Court Bar Association reiterated its commitment to safeguarding judicial independence and urged all relevant authorities to act in line with these core principles.
