The federal government on Tuesday announced to allow rechargeable station owners to themselves decide the “recharging price” for the electric vehicles (EVs), it was reported on Tuesday.
The government also issued a plan for not fixing the price of recharging of electric vehicles at the recharging stations.
Sources said that this move is aimed at promoting competitive atmosphere in the charging stations market.
The sources further revealed that electricity will be provided to charging stations as per a fixed tariff.
The minimum electricity tariff is fixed for electric vehicles. Recharging stations are established at various locations in Lahore.
The government directed Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) and other companies to provide them connections on a priority basis.
The Ministry of Water and Power also issued directives that a demand notice should be issued within two days after receiving the application.
