No secret meeting held with Imran Khan: Aleema Khan

Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has rejected social media claims that a former army chief met him in Adiala Jail. She called the reports completely false.

She said the rumours being circulated online are “totally fake.” She also said they were confirmed as false by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

Aleema Khan said the claims are part of a disinformation campaign. She said such reports are being spread to divert attention from Imran Khan’s jail conditions.

She said Imran Khan is being kept in strict isolation. She claimed he is not being given proper access to family members.

She also said he has not been allowed regular communication with his sons for several months. She added that he has limited contact with the outside world.

According to her, Imran Khan is also being denied books and television access in jail. She said these restrictions are affecting his daily life.

Aleema Khan said court orders allow scheduled meetings. She said the court has permitted family members, lawyers, and party leaders to meet him on specific days.

She added that these legal rights are not being fully implemented. She said only a few meetings have taken place in recent months.

The controversy comes after social media discussions about an alleged high-profile meeting inside Adiala Jail. The reports suggested that a former military official met Imran Khan.

Imran Khan has been in custody since August 2023. He is currently serving sentences in multiple cases.

He was sentenced to 14 years in a corruption case. He also received a 17-year sentence in another reference related to the Toshakhana case.

He has also undergone medical treatment at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad. His health has been monitored through follow-up visits.

His family has previously raised concerns about access restrictions. They say he is not being allowed proper communication with relatives.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has also staged protests outside Adiala Jail. These protests are held on court-approved visitation days.

Party leaders say they are demanding implementation of court orders regarding meetings.

Aleema Khan’s statement adds to ongoing political debate over Imran Khan’s detention conditions. The issue remains a major point of tension between PTI and state authorities.
