Pakistani actor and producer Fahad Mustafa is celebrating a major win for the local entertainment industry after the Punjab government announced revised operating hours for cinemas and restaurants.
Taking to Instagram, Fahad shared an official notification highlighting the updated timings and expressed his excitement over the decision.
In a cheerful caption, the actor addressed moviegoers across Punjab and encouraged them to head to cinemas and support local films.
“Haan bhae Punjab walon, khol diye CM Maryam Nawaz jee ne cinemas aap logon ke liye… ab jaen aur jakar dekhain hamari film,” he wrote.
Fahad also thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for responding to concerns raised by members of the entertainment industry.
“Thank you Mariyam jee… I really appreciate this,” he added.
The development comes shortly after Fahad Mustafa publicly appealed for a review of the early closing hours affecting shopping malls and cinemas. He had pointed out that most cinemas operate inside malls and that early closures were limiting access to evening and late-night screenings, particularly for newly released local films.
According to the latest government notification, cinema and restaurant operating hours have been extended until 11:00 PM under the revised summer schedule, providing audiences with more opportunities to enjoy entertainment and dining later in the evening.
The announcement was welcomed by several industry figures, including actress Mehwish Hayat, who reacted to Fahad’s post with a popular meme featuring a toddler and the caption, “YOU DA MAN!”
Her playful reaction quickly caught attention and added to the celebratory mood among members of the film industry.
