Stop attacks and negotiate deal immediately, Trump warns Iran

WASHINGTON / MIDDLE EAST: US President Donald Trump has called on Iran to immediately stop attacks on Israel and return to negotiations, as tensions in the region escalate following reports of fresh missile strikes.

Speaking in an interview with Fox News, Trump stated that Iran must “stop firing now” and come back to the negotiating table to finalize a possible agreement. He emphasized that diplomatic discussions were still ongoing and suggested that a breakthrough could be possible within days, specifically hinting at progress around the 8th, 9th, or 10th of the week.

His remarks came shortly after reports that Iran launched approximately 10 ballistic missiles toward northern Israel, marking another serious escalation in the already volatile regional conflict.

According to international media reports, Iran described its recent actions as a response to ongoing Israeli strikes, which Tehran claims violated a fragile ceasefire arrangement in the wider regional conflict, including operations linked to Lebanon. In retaliation, Iranian forces reportedly targeted Israeli territory, escalating fears of a broader confrontation.

Trump also warned Israel against launching immediate retaliatory strikes, urging restraint to avoid further destabilization. However, despite the warning, reports suggest that Israeli forces carried out counter-operations following the missile attack, further intensifying the situation.

The exchange of fire has raised alarm among global observers, with concerns that the situation could spiral into a wider regional war involving multiple fronts. Defense analysts say the firing of ballistic missiles into northern Israel represents one of the most serious escalations in recent months.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts appear to be continuing behind the scenes, with US officials reportedly pushing for renewed talks aimed at de-escalation and a potential agreement between Washington and Tehran.

As tensions remain high, the international community is closely watching developments, with calls growing for immediate restraint from all sides to prevent further escalation and loss of civilian life.
