The Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) has imposed a complete ban on electricity bill installment facility during June in a bid to meet its recovery targets, it was reported on Monday.
Under newly-issued instructions, consumers will no longer be allowed to pay current bills or outstanding dues in installments.
Field officers have been directed to ensure full recovery of dues in line with the assigned targets without any relaxation.
The directive further states that both current billing amounts and arrears must be collected simultaneously, with special emphasis on recovering outstanding dues from defaulting consumers. The recovery drive will focus on residential, commercial, and industrial users alike.
Sources also revealed that LESCO management has instructed that electricity connections disconnected due to non-payment should not be restored until all pending dues are cleared in full.
The move is aimed at achieving recovery targets by the end of June and strengthening overall revenue collection, although the company has not yet issued an official statement in this regard.
