Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA), Lahore, Health Department issued a notification to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Airport Security Force (ASF), and airline officials directing them to ensure HIV tests of all deported passengers at airports, it was reported on Tuesday.
The notification further stated that all deported passengers should undergo screening for HIV disease in the isolation rooms of Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore.
In case of a positive result, the health officials will inform the Punjab Aids Control Programme officials.
FIA officials are asked to extend their full cooperation in this regard, and ASF should depute a competent team to the international arrival lounge’s test area.
The airlines that will bring deported passengers will contact the health department and provide all data of the relevant passenger before the landing of the flight.
