The administration of Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi arranged a meeting between the former prime minister and founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his wife, Bushra Bibi, the jail officials claimed.
Jail officials stated that the meeting took place in the prison’s conference room and lasted for approximately 35 minutes.
The visit was conducted in accordance with the jail manual and the regulations governing inmate-family meetings.
During the meeting, the couple inquired about each other’s well-being and exchanged updates on their health and personal matters, they added.
Jail authorities arranged the meeting under the standard weekly visitation procedure prescribed in prison rules.
The interaction concluded peacefully after the allotted time, with both returning to their respective detention areas.
The meeting comes as part of the routine family visitation rights available to inmates under the jail manual, jail sources said.
