Pakistani actress and television host Fiza Ali has spoken out against the growing problem of online harassment, urging people to take digital abuse more seriously and create a safer online environment, especially for women and young users.
Taking to Instagram, Fiza shared a powerful video message along with a detailed caption highlighting the challenges faced by women, content creators and public figures on social media.
In her caption, Fiza pointed out that while social media has given people a voice and a platform to express themselves, some individuals have misused that freedom by turning online spaces into hubs of harassment and negativity. She stressed that countless women, creators and public figures regularly face abusive comments, character attacks, body shaming and offensive remarks.
Fiza said that insulting, humiliating or targeting someone online should not be defended as freedom of speech. According to her, such behavior amounts to harassment and has become a serious issue that deserves greater attention.
Through her message, she called for more awareness and collective efforts to tackle online bullying, especially for the sake of future generations.
In the video, the actress expressed concern over how unsafe social media has become in recent years. She questioned how parents can protect their children from online harassment in a time when simply making an account private is no longer enough.
Fiza emphasized that awareness is equally important. She explained that many people upload positive and harmless content, only to find their comment sections flooded with hateful remarks, offensive language and unnecessary negativity. According to her, some users appear more interested in venting frustration than engaging in meaningful discussion.
The actress also highlighted the emotional impact such behavior can have on users, particularly young girls and women who want to use social media without fear of being judged, ridiculed or harassed.
Calling for respect both online and offline, Fiza reminded followers that the issue goes beyond celebrities and influencers. She said it affects every woman and girl who deserves to feel safe while expressing herself on digital platforms.
Concluding her message, Fiza stressed that silence is not the solution. Instead, she encouraged people to spread awareness, challenge abusive behavior and help create a healthier online environment where respect is valued just as much as it is in real life.
