Special Assistant to PM (SAPM) Rana Sanaullah on Saturday rubbished reports that PM Shehbaz Sharif was going home after the presentation of the federal budget.
Speaking to reporters, he said such stories were concocted in order to destabilize the country. “PM Shehbaz is performing brilliantly,” he said, adding that the whole world praised Pakistan’s mediation in the US-Iran conflict.
Sanaullah said that the PTI leadership had given a positive response to the government’s offer for talks. “The matter is being discussed in the PML-N. And soon, the party will convey its message to the PTI.”
The SAPM said that JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was a patriotic and a seasoned politician, and the government would try to address his grievances.
He further said that the finance minister had promised that he would talk to the IMF to resolve tax-related issues. “The government is trying to extend the tax exemption granted to one of the sectors by taking the IMF on board.”
He went on to say that the prime minister’s offer to the opposition for ‘Meesaq-e-Istehkam-e-Pakistan’ was still valid. “I urge the opposition to accept the offer. And we will hold dialogue on each and every matter,” he added.
Sanaullah said that Maulana Fazl had talked about the release of Imran Khan. “However, the matter is presently sub judice,” he said, adding, “The government has nothing to do with it. Only courts will decide the fate of the former prime minister.”
He said that senior and competent doctors were examining the PTI founder.
