Bad news for token defaulters as 850,000 vehicles were blocked in the system and their registration has been suspended, it was reported on Tuesday.
According to Excise authorities, it was ordered to close defaulter vehicles for tax collection in the last 7 days of the financial year.
More than 1.75 million vehicles pay token tax annually across Punjab including Lahore.
More than 875000 vehicle owners have paid Rs9 billion in token tax.
More than 9 billion payments are pending on the part of 850000 vehicle owners.
Strict measures were directed to collect token tax across Punjab including Lahore by June 30.
ETOs were ordered to ensure blockades from 8 am to 5 pm and reports on token tax collection and activities should be sent to the DG office daily.
No vehicle system will be unblocked until token tax is paid.
