Ameer-e-Taliban Mullah Haibatullah has ordered a military operation against Tajik Commander Jumma Khan Fateh as the tussle for a control over the natural resources of Badakhshan province gain momentum, it was reported on Wednesday.
According to Afghan media reports, Mullah Haibutullah has declared Fateh a rebel, and a large contingent of the Afghan Taliban Special forces has left for district Shaghnan of Badakhshan to arrest Fateh.
On the other hand, the Tajik commander has ordered locals to take up arms against the government in Kabul and take control over mines.
Fateh has said that 10, 000 fighters in Badakhshan and 2, 500 in district Nasi were ready to fight the Taliban.
Defence experts have said that resistance being offered by local estranged commanders to Kabul has raised fears of a full-fledged civil war in Afghanistan.
