Head Coach of Pakistan cricket team Mike Hesson said on Thursday that players were presently preparing for the one-day world cup that is to be played next year.
Speaking at the white ball camp currently underway at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, he said the training players were going through was tough, but it was necessary.
He said that players had to be fit and strong so that they could meet the requirements of international cricket. “This is what we are working on at the camp.”
The camp has been underway at the academy since June 15.
“As many as 27 to 28 players are attending the camp,” Hesson said, and added, “We have a plan for every player.”
The head coach said that working with under-19 players at the camp was an extremely good experience.
“We will have to give cricketers experience so that they could be able to take on challenges,” he said.
Hesson said that he was working on all aspects of players, including technical, tactical, medical and conditioning.
He said that the squad prepared for the Asian Games was a blend of experience and fresh talent. “We still have enough time to work further on the squad.”
