A court in Lahore has sought a response from the Director National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in connection with an application seeking registration of a case against JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for making controversial speech against martyrs, it was reported on Wednesday.
Additional Sessions Judge Malik Latif heard the application on Wednesday.
Muddasir Chaudhry and Ali Shan Manawan, lawyers of applicant Muhammad Waqar, gave arguments.
According to the applicant, he saw Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s speech against martyrs on social media.
“My sentiments and those of the people were hurt by Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s speech.”
Maulana Fazlur Rehman made a derogatory remark against martyrs in a public gathering.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman has hurt the heart of the heirs of martyrs by giving a statement.
The court should order the registration of a case against Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Court adjourned the hearing of case till August 17.
