Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni held an important meeting with Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the Pakistan Army in Rawalpindi, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
According to the military’s media wing, the meeting focused on matters of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security and effective border management between Pakistan and Iran.
During the meeting, the Iranian interior minister appreciated Pakistan’s continuous efforts to decrease regional tensions and praised the country’s indispensable diplomatic role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Momeni described Pakistan as an important pillar of regional stability and acknowledged its constructive role in fostering dialogue and de-escalation.
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close communication and enhancing cooperation to address shared security challenges.
According to ISPR, Pakistan and Iran agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation aimed at promoting mutual prosperity, regional peace and stability.
