The core inflation measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI) decelerated to 9.2 percent during July 2026 as compared to 11.1 percent recorded during June 2026, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said on Monday.
According to PBS data, the CPI-based inflation during the same month of last year (July 2025) was recorded at 4.1 percent.
On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.2% in July 2026 as compared to a decrease of 0.3% in the previous month and an increase of 2.9% in July 2025.
CPI inflation Urban, increased by 8.7% on year-on-year basis in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 11.2% in the previous month and an increase of 4.4% in July 2025. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.2% in July 2026 as compared to a decrease of 0.5% in the previous month and an increase of 3.4% in July 2025.
CPI inflation Rural, increased by 9.9% on year-on-year basis in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 10.9% in the previous month and an increase of 3.5% observed in July 2025. On month-on-month basis, it increased by 1.2% in July 2026 as compared with no change in the previous month and an increase of 2.2% in July 2025.
Meanwhile, the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 12.0% in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 12.8% in the previous month and a decrease of 0.9% in July 2025. On MoM basis, it increased by 2.4% in July 2026 as compared to 0.7% in the previous month and an increase of 3.1% in July 2025.
Likewise, the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) inflation on YoY basis increased by 9.4% in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 10.7% in the previous month and a decrease of 0.5% in July 2025. On month-on-month basis, no change is observed in July 2026 as compared to a decrease of 1.2% in the previous month and an increase of 1.2% in July 2025.
The core inflation measured by non-food non-energy (NFNE) urban increased by 8.6% on (YoY) basis in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 8.7% in the previous month and an increase of 7.0% in July 2025. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.7% in July 2026 as compared to a decrease of 0.1% in the previous month and an increase of 0.8% in the corresponding month of last year i.e. July 2025.
The core inflation, measured by non-food non-energy rural increased by 8.1% on (YoY) basis in July 2026 as compared to an increase of 7.9% in the previous month and an increase of 8.1% in July 2025. On (MoM) basis, it increased by 0.9% in July 2026 as compared to 0.2% in the previous month and an increase of 0.7% in the corresponding month of last year i.e. July 2025.
