The federal government has further increased the petroleum levy on high-speed diesel by 81 paisa per litre, just 24 hours after the previous increase.
Following the latest revision, the petroleum levy on high-speed diesel has risen to Rs74.28 per litre.
The government has increased the levy on diesel by a total of Rs3.46 per litre over the past three days.
It had raised the petroleum levy on high-speed diesel by Rs1.21 per litre a day earlier.
Meanwhile, the petroleum levy on petrol has been maintained at Rs80 per litre.
In addition to the petroleum levy, a climate support levy of Rs5.50 per litre is being charged separately on both petrol and high-speed diesel.
