PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar has once again demanded that PTI founder Imran Khan undergo medical tests and be shifted to a hospital.
Speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court, Barrister Gohar said he hoped the party’s case would soon be fixed for hearing. He said the Supreme Court’s previous order was clear regarding Imran Khan’s medical examination and treatment.
Gohar said the court had directed that a medical board be formed to assess Imran Khan’s health. He added that the former prime minister’s sister would also be part of the board. According to him, the court order was fully implementable and there was no legal hurdle to shifting Imran Khan to a hospital.
The PTI chairman also commented on recent statements about Imran Khan’s health. He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s statement on the matter was accurate. Gohar said one sentence from Afridi’s remarks was being highlighted, while the main issue concerning Imran Khan’s health was being overlooked.
Gohar said authorities should focus on the former prime minister’s medical condition and ensure that he receives proper treatment. He also urged officials to take the health of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi seriously.
Defending Sohail Afridi, Gohar said the KP chief minister was elected with the support of PTI and was the nominee of Imran Khan. He said Afridi was not the close associate of any individual but was the chief executive of a province representing around 40 million people.
Gohar further said PTI’s popularity was linked to Imran Khan and urged the authorities to respect the Supreme Court’s directions. He also called for punishment for those found guilty of contempt of court.
He reiterated that the party’s primary demand was the implementation of the court’s order, including the medical assessment of Imran Khan and arrangements for his hospital transfer if required.
