PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly on Monday unanimously adopted a resolution calling for the immediate transfer of incarcerated PTI founder and former prime minister Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment.
The resolution, tabled by government lawmaker Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, urged the authorities to take all necessary measures without delay to address concerns regarding the former premier’s health.
According to the resolution, Imran should be shifted to Shifa International Hospital and provided medical care under the supervision of his physicians.
The provincial legislature also expressed concern over what the resolution described as the failure to transfer the PTI founder to Shifa International despite directions issued by the Supreme Court.
Lawmakers demanded that the relevant authorities implement the court’s directives and ensure appropriate medical treatment for the former prime minister.
The resolution was put before the House for a vote by the speaker and was subsequently approved unanimously.
