President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in the United Kingdom (UK) on a private visit for a medical check-up, it was reported on Tuesday.
During his stay, President Asif Zardari will hold talks with different leaders. The personal physician of President Zardari, Dr Asim Hussain, and Saleem Mandviwala have also reached the United Kingdom. Their presence is expected to facilitate the president’s medical care during his stay in the UK.
Sources said Zardari has travelled to Britain after a gap of nearly six years. His visit comes as the Pakistan Peoples Party’s senior leadership is also expected to gather in London.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is likely to arrive in London in the coming days. His expected visit could lead to meetings between senior party leaders and members of the family during their stay in Britain.
The president’s two-week stay is expected to include medical appointments and other engagements. However, further details about his schedule have not yet been made public.
