Barrister Gohar calls for ‘unconditional’ PTI-govt negotiations

ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has called for unconditional negotiations with the federal government, saying dialogue is essential to resolving political issues and safeguarding democracy.

“We are not refusing negotiations; they should be held unconditionally,” he told the media in Islamabad.

Barrister Gohar termed successful negotiations between the PTI and the federal government essential for the nation and democracy.

The PTI chief opposed the imposition of governor’s rule or an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the province was in the grip of terrorism.

He also called for meetings with jailed PTI founder Imran Khan and the release of arrested party leaders.

According to Barrister Gohar, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had offered conditional negotiations, while the government was imposing restrictions on PTI.

“We are political people, and political people sit down unconditionally,” he said.

Gohar confirmed that PTI was in contact with government members, emphasising that issues should be resolved through dialogue.
