WASHINGTON: The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has rejected a claim by the commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy that American forces had withdrawn from the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, CENTCOM said US forces remained present and vigilant in and around the strategic waterway.
According to the statement, international maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz was under the control of US forces, while American troops and regional partners also remained present in the strategically important passage.
