ISLAMABAD: The situation surrounding the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur remains unclear, with conflicting reports emerging as a heavy contingent of Rangers and police sealed the KP House in Islamabad on Saturday.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is reportedly present inside Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, where there is a tight security cordon outside. Islamabad Police and paramilitary forces personnel are stationed outside KP House.
Meanwhile, dozens of PTI workers who reached KP House have been arrested.
On the other hand, Barrister Dr Saif, an adviser to the KP government, stated that CM Gandapur has not been formally arrested and is currently on bail until October 25, adding that a heavy contingent of Rangers and police is present inside KP House.
“If the chief minister is arrested, it would be a clear violation of the court’s orders and an insult to the people’s mandate in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” Barrister Saif said, warning that such action would be in contempt of court.
