ICCI President, VP resign; Shoaib Masood appointed interim chief

The President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Nasser Qureshi, along with Senior Vice President Abdul Rehman Siddiqui and Vice President Nasir Chaudhry, have voluntarily resigned from their respective posts, it was reported on Thursday.

The Executive Committee of ICCI has formally accepted all three resignations and has appointed Mian Shaukat Masood as the interim president of the chamber. This decision marks a leadership transition at one of the most influential business institutions in the region.

According to chamber sources, further decisions regarding the appointment of permanent leadership are expected in the coming days, signalling a period of potential transformation and renewed direction for the organisation.

ICCI, which was founded in 1984 and incorporated under the Companies Act VII of 1913, represents the entire Federal Capital Area, both urban and rural. With its headquarters in Islamabad, the chamber has long served as a cornerstone for business advocacy, economic growth, and private sector development in the country.

Over the years, ICCI has aimed to enhance its services to its members by offering access to valuable business information, conducting training needs assessment surveys, and organising workshops on youth and women entrepreneurship.

Known as the leading voice of the business community in the northern region, ICCI promotes trade, industry, and innovation while championing youth and women’s participation in the economic landscape.
