Dua Lipa combined family time and fashion flair in New York City, days after making headlines for cutting ties with her longtime agent amid a political controversy.
The 30-year-old pop star looked effortlessly chic as she joined her father, Dukagjin Lipa, for lunch in Manhattan.
Dua exuded elegance in a high-necked black midi dress with a corset-style bodice, which she paired with Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels and a statement cheetah-print handbag.
Shielding her eyes behind black sunglasses, the singer smiled warmly as she posed for photos with fans who recognized her on the street.
Adding a touch of sparkle, Dua flashed her diamond engagement ring from fiancé Callum Turner. The Fantastic Beasts actor, 35, proposed last Christmas with the bespoke sparkler, reportedly valued between £62,000 and £93,000.
Meanwhile, her father and manager Dukagjin, 56, kept his look casual in a black jumper and striped trousers as the pair enjoyed their day out.
The outing came shortly after reports confirmed Dua had dropped her agent David Levy following his involvement in a campaign to prevent Irish rap trio Kneecap from performing at Glastonbury Festival earlier this year.
Levy, along with other industry figures, signed a private letter urging festival organizers Michael and Emily Eavis to cancel Kneecap’s set, accusing the group of fueling antisemitism and showing support for militant groups.
The letter was later leaked, sparking backlash from artists on Levy’s roster, including Dua and Massive Attack.
A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Dua made sure through her people that David Levy wasn’t working on her music anymore. She is very openly pro-Palestine and that doesn’t align with David.”
The insider added that while Dua remains with William Morris Endeavor (WME), she is now represented by a different agent within the agency.
Despite Levy’s protest, Kneecap performed at Glastonbury as planned. Police confirmed they received complaints about the show but chose not to pursue further action.
Dua’s decision to part ways with Levy reflects her longstanding public support for Palestine. In May 2024, the Levitating singer condemned what she described as “Israeli genocide” in Gaza, while also expressing condolences for Israeli victims of the October 7 attacks. She has also joined campaigns criticizing what she views as the UK’s complicity in the conflict.
Meanwhile, Kneecap themselves have faced scrutiny. Member Liam Og O hAnnaidh (Mo Chara) is currently awaiting trial on terrorism-related charges after allegedly displaying a Hezbollah flag during a November performance, allegations he denies. The group has also been accused of referencing Hezbollah and Hamas during their set at Coachella 2024, which drew international attention.
Moving forward
Despite the storm, Dua continues to balance her music career with high-profile appearances and her personal life. With her wedding to Turner on the horizon and her political convictions firmly in place, the Grammy-winning star shows no signs of shying away from either glamour or controversy.
