As a crackdown on human smugglers is underway, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Gwadar on Monday arrested 21 Afghan nationals, along with two drivers, who were heading to Iran via sea.
Those who were arrested were 12 males, four women and 13 children, and they belonged to different districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
As per details, six of them belonged to Gujranwala, while two were from Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Nankana Saheb each.
Similarly, three belonged to Nowshera, while six others hailed from different areas of Toba Tek Singh, Sialkot, Bajaur, Chakwal, Gujrat and Sheikhupura.
The arrests were made in Jiwani area of Balochistan.
As per initial investigation, from Iran, all these persons had to travel to other countries illegally.
They were later shifted to Composite Circle Gwadar for further questioning.
