Zimbabwe have named a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20 International tri-series in Pakistan, which will also feature Sri Lanka, as part of their preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The tournament will serve as a crucial build-up for the African side, who recently secured qualification for next year’s global event after an unbeaten campaign in the T20 World Cup 2026 Africa Qualifier.
The squad sees only one change from the group that faced Afghanistan in the recent home series.
Fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani has been ruled out due to a back injury, while uncapped pacer Newman Nyamhuri has been named as his replacement, earning his first international call-up.
The rest of the lineup remains consistent, signaling Zimbabwe’s intent to maintain continuity ahead of a packed international season.
Sikandar Raza to continue as captain
All-rounder Sikandar Raza will continue to lead the side, bringing both experience and form into the tri-series.
The squad includes several senior players such as Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza, and veteran wicketkeeper-batter Brendan Taylor, who returns to the national setup after a gap, bolstering the team’s batting depth and leadership.
Zimbabwe Cricket said the combination reflects a balance of experienced campaigners and emerging talents, designed to test competitive strategies before the T20 World Cup.
Zimbabwe’s tri-series schedule in Pakistan
Zimbabwe will open their campaign against hosts Pakistan on November 17 in Rawalpindi, followed by their second fixture against Sri Lanka on November 19, also in Rawalpindi.
The action will then shift to Lahore, where Zimbabwe will face Pakistan again on November 23 and Sri Lanka on November 25. The tri-series final is scheduled for November 29, also in Lahore.

Building momentum ahead of T20 World Cup
Having qualified among the 20 teams for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe will look to fine-tune their combinations through this tri-series.
With Raza’s leadership and Taylor’s return adding stability, the team aims to sharpen its bowling and middle-order options while adapting to subcontinent conditions.
