Around 2,000 Sikh pilgrims will depart for India today after completing a ten-day religious pilgrimage held to mark the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, the Punjab Minister for Minority Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, will bid farewell to the departing pilgrims at the Wagah border.
The pilgrims expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the Government of Pakistan and the Evacuee Trust Property Board. They said they felt the same love and peace in Pakistan as they would in their own homes.
The visitors said that the gurdwaras in Pakistan had been preserved with great respect and care. They added that the hospitality extended by the Pakistani people conveyed the true message of humanity.
During their stay, the Sikh pilgrims visited Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur. Pilgrims from across the world received special hospitality during the celebrations.
