Shraddha Kapoor injured on Eetha set: Lavani mishap halts shoot

Shraddha Kapoor’s committed transformation for Eetha (a biopic of Tamasha legend Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar) hit a brief snag when the actor injured herself while performing a Lavani number.

On location, the 38-year-old lost her footing during a fast-paced sequence composed by Ajay-Atul and fractured the toe of her left foot, forcing the unit to pause the shoot.

The incident reportedly occurred as Shraddha, weighed in character with over 15 kilograms and draped in a vibrant Nauvari saree, heavy jewellery and a kamarpatta, executed a series of consecutive steps to the dholki’s quick tempo.

Times of India’s sources speak of how Shraddha handled the setback with professionalism and pragmatism, as, rather than wasting the day, she suggested switching to close-up emotional scenes.

The team shifted to a Mumbai set at Madh Island to film such sequences, but after a couple of days her discomfort increased and the team decided to stop entirely. The unit expects to regroup in approximately two weeks while Shraddha recovers.

This injury, however, feels more like a footnote in an ambitious chapter of Shraddha’s career. After the success of Stree 2: Sarkate Ka Aatank (2024), the actress has been choosy about her projects and eager to deepen her craft.

Eetha marks her first biopic portrayal, and many fans – all 94 million of them on Instagram–are already buzzing with anticipation.

Director Laxman Utekar and the creative team have pledged to support a safe, measured return to shooting.

For now, Shraddha’s appetite for rigorous performance and her quick thinking during the mishap reinforce a simple fact – that the commitment to art sometimes comes with bruises, but her resolve remains intact. Fans remain loyal and excited.
