CTD introduces Mobile Command and Control Unit for sensitive security operations

The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has introduced a Command and Control Mobile Unit that will function as a fully equipped mobile headquarters to strengthen real-time security monitoring and coordination, officials said on Monday.

According to CTD officials, the unit will be installed in a specially-designed vehicle and deployed at highly sensitive events, including the Raiwind Ijtima, Data Darbar gatherings, major cricket matches, Ashura processions, and large-scale political rallies.

The mobile headquarters will allow on-site monitoring, command and coordination from a single operational van. It will provide live data access, video feeds and analytical assistance to security personnel during ongoing operations.

Officials said the vehicle is equipped with multi-power workstations, a conference corner, and presentation-mode facilities to support decision-making. The system will also be able to function as a backup command centre across multiple provinces, extending from Lahore to Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and even border regions.

Security forces and special operations teams using the unit will gain direct access to police databases, telecom connectivity and operational records.

In addition, the mobile command vehicle will operate with a network of surveillance technologies including 360-degree PTZ cameras, pinhole sensors and drone-based imaging systems to enhance situational awareness during critical deployments.
