PTI decides to give govt tough time in joint session tomorrow

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party has decided to give the government a tough time during the upcoming joint session of Parliament, sources revealed on Monday.

According to details, the joint meeting of PTI’s parliamentary committee was co-chaired by Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Salman Akram Raja.

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas also attended the session, which discussed the party’s strategy for the crucial joint sitting.

Sources said PTI lawmakers will stage a strong protest in the House tomorrow, opposing the recently passed bills.

However, internal disagreements surfaced during the meeting.

Barrister Gohar reportedly barred members from issuing individual protest calls, expressing concern that when everyone announces protests independently, “it turns the matter into a joke.”

Several participants supported the stance, suggesting that future protest calls must come only from the parliamentary party.

Members also complained that the recent protest by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister was held without consulting the parliamentary party in confidence.

Despite the internal criticism, the committee finalised an aggressive protest plan.

The parliamentary party decided that lawmakers would first hold a strong demonstration inside Parliament.

After the session, all members will march on foot from Parliament House to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to continue their protest.

Following the demonstration outside the IHC, PTI lawmakers will proceed to Adiala Jail as part of their protest programme, the parliamentary party meeting observed.
