The Balochistan Home Department has imposed Section 144 in Quetta district, issuing a range of strict restrictions to maintain law and order, it was reported on Monday.
According to an official notification, the display or use of weapons is strictly prohibited in an effort to prevent any untoward incident and rising security concerns.
Women and children, as well as double riding on motorcycles, are restricted.
The government has also imposed a ban on the use of black tinted windows on vehicles, while the movement of unregistered motorcycles is also prohibited.
Gatherings of more than five people, processions, rallies, and sit-ins are strictly forbidden under the directions.
Use of masks or mufflers to cover faces in public places is also banned, while transport of acid and explosive materials is prohibited.
The Home Department has granted police, levies, and FC personnel full authority to take strict action against violators.
Any breach of the restrictions will be dealt with under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
The restrictions will remain in effect until December 22, 2025, and the Deputy Commissioner has been instructed to submit daily reports to the Home Department regarding enforcement.
