Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood has decided to continue his playing career until the conclusion of the World Test Championship.
The sources revealed that following the World Test Championship, Shan Masood is expected to take on a consultant role in international cricket. He has already been providing input to the international department, although he has not yet assumed formal administrative responsibilities.
Shan Masood is set to remain available as a player until Pakistan’s Test series against England next year. Pakistan’s tour of England, comprising a Test series, is scheduled to take place from August 19 to September 9.
In the interim, former fast bowler Aaqib Javed is overseeing the responsibilities of the international department on a temporary basis. He will continue to handle international cricket-related matters until the completion of the World Test Championship.
His duties include issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players participating in leagues, overseeing the Shaheens (Pakistan A team), and managing series-related matters for the Pakistan national team.
The arrangement ensures continuity in both Pakistan’s on-field leadership and off-field international cricket operations during the ongoing Test Championship cycle.
