Pakistan hosts historic visit of Islamic military coalition for counterterrorism talks

Pakistan is hosting a landmark visit by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) as part of efforts to strengthen joint action against terrorism and enhance professional military cooperation among Muslim countries.

The delegation, led by the Saudi secretary general, represents a 43-nation alliance and is visiting Pakistan from February 2 to February 8. The purpose of the visit is to review ongoing collaboration and explore new steps to deepen collective efforts against terrorism.

A 17-member team from the coalition will also inaugurate a special training programme focused on modern counterterrorism strategies. Officials said the initiative aims to improve skills, share expertise and introduce advanced methods to deal with emerging security challenges.

The visit is being seen as a strong symbol of unity between Pakistan and the wider Islamic world in the fight against extremism. It highlights Pakistan’s growing role in promoting regional security and professional military cooperation.

Observers say the Islamic world is closely watching Pakistan as countries come together to build a stronger, coordinated front against terrorism through shared training, intelligence cooperation and joint planning.
