Maya Ali keeps Basant spirit alive with back to ack festive posts

Maya Ali has been dropping glimpses from her Lahore Basant celebrations, keeping her Instagram feed drenched in vibrant hues and celebratory vibes for the past few days.

Sharing a fresh carousel on Instagram, Maya captioned her post: “These are the moments we live for…!!” The shots capture her immersed in the festive atmosphere, surrounded by colourful traditional umbrellas and bright marigolds.

Dressed in a classic red kurta set from Zara Shahjahan’s Basant ’26 collection, Maya radiated old school festive charm while posing effortlessly against the lively backdrop.

The carefully curated shoot, complete with coordinated props and professional photography, hinted that the celebrations may also double as a promotional collaboration.

In a previous post, the actress shared playful pictures of herself flying a kite modelling, posing, and even acting as though she were a seasoned kite-flying pro.

Fans couldn’t help but admire the aesthetic, though many noted the strong fashion campaign vibe running through the visuals.

For nearly two decades, Lahore remained deprived of the colours of Basant, with generations growing up on stories and faded photographs of the once iconic spring festival.

It’s recent revival, though under strict regulations and heightened safety measures, sparked both excitement and debate. Her Instagram reel burst with color, culture, and unapologetic Lahori pride.

Set on a sun drenched old city rooftop, the visually rich video channels the timeless spirit of Basant, instantly transporting viewers into a world of kites and laughter.

Dancing freely against a backdrop of historic rooftops, her movements perfectly  synched with the festive mood. The reel give vibes of cinematic feel. The video gives Lahore’s energy and the care free charm of spring celebrations. Maya captioned it with her signature flair “Lahore ki hoon, koi doubt mat rakhna!! Ho jaaye Phir…!!!!”

Visually, the reel is a masterclass in traditional chic. Maya is seen wearing an elegant white anarkali style suit adorned with soft pink and green embroidery, paired with a dreamy, multi shaded dupatta in hues of mint, blush, and sunshine yellow.

The fabric catches the breeze effortlessly as she spins, creating moments that feel straight out of a vintage film reel. Her styling is equally striking.

Colourful stacks of bangles, classic gold jhumkas, and a delicate bindi, while her long braid decorated with paraanda brings playful movement to the frame.

Bright paper kites and a yellow manjha spool complete the scene, anchoring the reel firmly in Basant tradition. Aware of the sensitivities surrounding Basant, the actress added a thoughtful disclaimer to keep the focus on positivity.

Maya wrote, “Disclaimer: charkhi is just a prop, let’s keep enjoying the day and making memories, no issues, only good vibes…” The Man Mayal actress’ reel was synced with Uchiyan Majajan Wali by Jawad Ahmad perfectly matching Basant vibe.
