BTS gears up for ‘Arirang’ album and tour, battling injuries along the way

BTS, the globally acclaimed K-pop boy band, is gearing up for a major 2026 comeback. The group plans to release their new studio album “Arirang” on March 20, followed by a world tour and a Netflix documentary. Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Over the years, BTS has proven that injuries, illness, and fatigue do not stop them from delivering unforgettable performances. The members have repeatedly gone above and beyond to ensure their fans experience live shows at their best.

Jungkook Performs Despite Heel Injury

During BTS’s Love Yourself Tour in London (2018), Jungkook suffered a heel injury just an hour before the concert at the O2 Arena. Medical staff advised him not to dance. Nevertheless, he performed seated on a moving stool, focusing solely on vocals. Behind-the-scenes footage later revealed the severity of the injury, yet Jungkook insisted on performing, even becoming emotional on stage.

Suga Adapts After Shoulder Surgery

In 2020, Suga underwent shoulder surgery but continued to participate in BTS performances through virtual appearances. At the Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA 2020), he performed as a hologram during “Life Goes On,” adhering to medical guidance while still being part of the show. In subsequent performances, Suga limited his choreography to avoid aggravating his injury, demonstrating how stage adaptations can maintain the show without risking health.

Performing Through Minor Injuries and Illness

BTS members have faced numerous minor injuries and health challenges on stage. For example:

V (Kim Taehyung) performed while battling a fever, showing resilience despite exhaustion.

Jin continued singing live during award shows and concerts despite a finger injury, modifying choreography when necessary.

Jimin has delivered performances while ill, including times when he had high fever or severe fatigue, maintaining full energy to satisfy fans.
