Trump pledges $10B for Gaza ‘Board of Peace’ as PM Shehbaz joins peace summit

Trump hails Pakistan’s Field Marshal as ‘great personality’

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States will contribute $10 billion to the newly created Board of Peace. The announcement was made during the board’s inaugural meeting in Washington.

The summit was attended by around two dozen world leaders and senior officials. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was among the participants. U.S. Vice President JD Vance was also present.

President Trump said the funding would support Gaza’s stabilisation and reconstruction under a broader comprehensive plan. He described the initiative as a major step toward restoring order and rebuilding infrastructure in the conflict-affected Palestinian territory.

During his address, Trump praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He also commended Pakistan’s Chief of Defence Forces, Asim Munir. Trump recalled last year’s Pakistan-India conflict and claimed that diplomatic engagement and economic pressure helped prevent further escalation. He said trade leverage and tariff threats played a role in encouraging both sides to step back from confrontation.

The Board of Peace has been established as a transitional governing body. It is tasked with overseeing Gaza’s administrative transition, reconstruction, and demobilisation process. The board holds the authority to issue resolutions, form committees, and guide governance reforms. President Trump will chair the body.

The framework also includes the formation of an International Stabilisation Force (ISF). The force is expected to assist in maintaining security, protecting humanitarian operations, and establishing civilian safety corridors. The United States will initially lead the mission under the proposed structure.

Pakistan has stated that it supports international peace efforts. However, it has clarified that any troop contribution would be limited strictly to peacekeeping. Islamabad has ruled out participating in any operation aimed at disarming Hamas.

Pakistan does not have representation on the Gaza Executive Board. This means it will not directly influence operational decisions within the structure.
