Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pakistan has secured a unique and respected position at international forums, adding that the country’s leadership is being acknowledged and praised globally.
Speaking to the media, the minister stated that Pakistan’s diplomatic presence has strengthened in recent months.
He claimed that US President Donald Trump praised Pakistan “60 to 70 times,” describing it as a reflection of the country’s growing importance on the global stage.
Khawaja Asif termed the appreciation of Pakistan at an international event as a significant diplomatic success. He said recognition of the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army and the Army Chief is a matter of national pride.
The defence minister further said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s political vision has also been widely appreciated at international platforms.
Referring to the situation in the Middle East, he said important steps have been taken for the resettlement of people in Gaza and Palestine. He welcomed the reported announcement of $12 billion by Muslim countries for Palestine, calling it a positive development.
Expressing hope for the future, Khawaja Asif said that, God willing, Gaza and Palestine will be rebuilt and resettled. He also remarked that Ramadan is a blessed month and prayed for the resolution of issues facing Muslims around the world.
He said that the international community must unite to end the atrocities against the Palestinian people.
