You marry, we pay” Faysal’s hilarious take on celebrity weddings

Veteran actor and host Faysal Quraishi has shared a humorous take on the wave of celebrity weddings taking place this year, saying showbiz stars should “pause” their wedding plans — at least for now.

Faysal, one of Pakistan’s leading television and film actors, is currently hosting a Ramzan transmission where several celebrity guests have been appearing. During a recent episode featuring actress Momina Iqbal, the conversation turned to the growing number of weddings in the entertainment industry.

The year 2026 has witnessed a series of back-to-back celebrity marriages. Several young stars have tied the knot in quick succession, making it a season full of star-studded wedding events.

Speaking lightheartedly, Faysal advised Momina Iqbal to avoid getting married during what he described as “wedding season.” He jokingly said that while attending weddings is enjoyable, the financial impact on guests can be significant when ceremonies happen one after another.

As a guest, I love attending weddings,” he remarked with a smile. “But when you sit down and calculate, you realize you’ve spent around ten lakhs on wedding gifts because so many people got married back-to-back.”

He added humorously, “You all get married, and our money gets spent.”

His playful comments quickly drew laughter on set and resonated with viewers who have also felt the financial pressure of attending multiple celebrations in a short period.
